Fumigants

An important aspect of keeping our agricultural industry in New Zealand secure is the careful use of fumigants.  Probably best known is the fumigation of import/export containers to keep our shores safe from offshore invaders – unwanted pests such as the Gypsy Moth or White Spotted Tussock Moth or Painted Apple Moth to name a few! However the practice of fumigating soils to limit the impact of certain undesirable life forms that hinder crop production prior to planting crops such as strawberries is also an important function of these chemicals. Sulkem plays an important part in their importation under strict regulatory control.
